Chocolate Hills

The Chocolate Hills are probably the most famous tourist attraction in Bohol. These perfectly cone-shaped hills abound in Central Bohol -- 1,268 of them in all. They are spread generously around the municipalities of Carmen, Batuan, and Sagbayan, which are about 55 kilometers from Tagbilaran City. Getting to the Chocolate Hills is easy, just ask your hotel to help you get to the area!

Punta Cruz Tower

In Maribojoc, some 14 km west of Tagbilaran City, a curious triangular watch tower oversees the seas South of Bohol. From its windows at the top, you can see Cebu, Siquijor, and Mindanao. The Spanish had it build in 1796 as a look-out post against pirates and Muslim marauders, who at that time where a plague to the people of Bohol.

Clarin Ancestral House

It is traditional Filipino bahay na bato with long slanting roofs covered in nipa leaves. The house has a coral stone foundation, rough-hewn wooden posts, wooden walls and floors of wide hardwood planks and a receiving hall with a high vaulted ceiling. It is made up of two floors: the living quarters being on the upper floor. The upper floor has large and wide windows made up of capiz shells which let the sunshine in if closed. There are about half a dozen four-poster antique wooden beds reflecting the austere Boholano aesthetic.

Bohol National Museum

The National Museum Bohol Branch is a small museum but they do have interesting collections. One of the things that really piqued my interest is the geological history of Bohol, a visual rendering of how the rocky island of Bohol developed through millions of years.

Bohol

Bohol is a little island paradise in the southern Philippines. The most notable among the tourist attractions in Bohol is Chocolate Hills. However, there are more reasons why one should visit Bohol. The many activities and places to see is enough to make visitors see the place as a sanctuary for a lot of nature's beauty.
